SEAA Inter-Counties Championships
(Horspath, Oxford, 7 December 2019)

The SEAA Southern Inter-County Cross-Country Championships 2019 took place on Saturday 7 December at Horspath, Oxford.

The Hampshire teams finished as follows:

  • Senior Women's team: 3rd (Charlotte Chalwin 7th individually)
  • Under 20 Women's team: 1st (Maisie Grice 1st, Maddie Deadman 3rd and Abi Woolaston 6th)
  • Under 17 Women's team: 2nd (Lily Neate 7th, Alice Garner 9th and Rachel Gillett 10th)
  • Under 17 Men's team: 3rd (Woody Jerome 8th)
  • Under 15 Girls' team: 1st (Annie Mann 4th, Rose Chesterfield 6th and Robyn Fossa 7th)
  • Under 15 Boys' team: 5th
  • Under 13 Girls' team: 4th (Macy Connolly 5th and Eve Bailey 6th)
  • Under 13 Boys' team: 3rd (James Lewis 2nd and Stanley Parkinson 6th)

Under 13 Girls' teamIn the first race of the day, Macy Connolly and Eve Bailey finished in 5th and 6th places respectively, and the Under 13 Girls' team finished fourth, only missing out on third place to Surrey on countback and only one point behind second-placed Essex. [All photos: David Vosser]

Under 13 Boys' teamIn the next race, Hampshire gained their first medals of the day. James Lewis took the silver medal and led the team into third place in the team competition.

Under 15 Girls' teamIn the Under 15 Girls' race which followed, the gold medals went to the Hampshire team, comprising Annie Mann, Rose Chesterfield, Robyn Fossa and Amelia Moore.

Under 15 Boys' teamThe Under 15 Boys finished in fifth position, with Ben Brown leading the Hampshire team home in 11th place.
Team: Cameron Walker-Powell, George Lambert, Benjamin White, Nathan Lane, Samuel Colbourne, Harry Wilson, Ben Brown and Ben Chesterfield

Under 17 Men's teamConsistent running by the Under 17 Men earned the bronze medals for the team. Woody Jerome finished in 8th place, but the next four Hampshire runners finished in the top twenty.

Under 17 Women's teamThe Under 17 Women went one better, and four finishers in the first sixteen won the silver team medal for Hampshire.
Team: Lily Neate, Hannah Foster, Alice Garner, Rachel Gillett, Ruby Horton, Isabelle Beck, Sasha Tydeman and Aisling Dunne

Seniro and Under 20 Women's teamsThe Senior and Under 20 Women ran in a combined race, and both teams are pictured here.

The Under 20 Women's competition was easily Hampshire's best result of the day, with Maisie Grice taking the gold medal and Maddie Deadman the bronze. Abi Woolaston and Grace Mann completed the team gold medallists.

Hampshire's final success of the day came in the Senior Women's race, where Charlotte Chalwin in seventh place led the team to the bronze medal position.
